I have never borne a child,

I have never felt that pain,

I don’t have a uterus,

I have never breastfed!

 

I am not that good at cooking,

I am very hard to love,

I don’t look soft,

I am not quite!

 

But I have a child, He calls me mother,

And I feel loved through that word!

I love to be his mother,

But I am still many other things!

 

I am a child, a friend, a lover, a dreamer!

I have my views, I have my values!

I have my pride, I have my dreams,

I have my desire, I have my freedom!

 

I am a mother! And I love to be one!

But I am a person, I have my own mind!

I have many imperfections but I try my best,

'Cause I have a child, he calls me mother!
